Beginning Summer 2025, Disability Resources will use the Flex Plan dashboard in the AIM accommodations portal to support students and instructors with communication, clarity and collaboration involving the Plan for Absences & Missed Deadlines (PAMD) accommodation.
When a student requests their PAMD accommodation, the instructor will be asked to complete a Flex Plan in AIM, which outlines the flexibility possible for absences, short-term assignment deadlines and other classroom activities in their course. Once submitted, the student can view these parameters and reach out to their Access Coordinator with any questions or concerns.
Additionally, when a student needs to use their PAMD accommodation due to a disability-related absence, they should log into their AIM accommodations portal to submit a disability-related absence notification request, which is emailed to the instructor and visible to the student’s assigned Access coordinator for review. Submitting the disability-related absence notification ensures an absence is linked to the student’s disability and approved accommodations, and provides details on the student’s need in case additional discussion is necessary.
