- Submit an online New Student Application (Accommodations Request) along with relevant supporting documentation.
Students may make accommodation requests and submit supporting documentation at any time prior to and during the semester that accommodations are needed. However, it may take some time for the information to be reviewed; meetings to be scheduled and accommodations to be put in place (up to 2-3 weeks).
Please note: Students co-enrolled and taking classes with other institutions (such as Blinn or the Engineering Academies) must also apply for accommodations with the disability services office respective to their other school. Disability Resources with Texas A&M University coordinates classroom, testing, and housing accommodations for academic programs based at the College Station & Galveston campus only. Requesting and receiving accommodations with our office does not grant or guarantee the same accommodations and availability at another institution.

- Students with temporary conditions may want to call the main office at 979-845-1637 to talk with an Access Coordinator discuss any time-sensitive questions or needs.

- Submitted information is reviewed
Student accommodation requests and supporting documentation will be reviewed on an individual, case-by-case basis in the order that it is received. After the initial application is reviewed, an Access Coordinator will be assigned and will contact the student to set up an appointment to discuss possible accommodations or they may request additional supporting documentation, if needed before accommodations can be put into place.

- Most accommodation requests are reviewed within a week of receiving the request. However during specific time periods when workload is high or staffing is limited (first few weeks of the semester, during holiday breaks and finals week) the review process may take longer.
- If a student has not heard from Disability Resources within 3 weeks of submitting a New Student Application please contact the office to check on the status of the request.
- Meet with Access Coordinator (New Student Meeting)
The student will usually meet with an Access Coordinator to discuss their requests in more detail, to review Disability Resources policies and procedures for implementing accommodations and to discuss potential resources.
It is the student’s responsibility to make their needs known and to provide the appropriate documentation to support the need for the requested accommodations.
