Disability Resources is committed to promoting an inclusive environment where every student can fully participate in the educational opportunities, activities and services offered by Texas A&M. Disability Resources determines eligibility for accommodations and identifies reasonable accommodations through an interactive process. This Appeal Procedure may be followed when a student disagrees with a decision made on eligibility for accommodations or on accommodation request(s):
- When a student disagrees with a decision made on accommodations or eligibility, they should first meet with their Access Coordinator (AC) to discuss their concerns. The AC will gather information from the student and attempt to resolve the student’s concern.
- When the student’s concern cannot be resolved with the AC, the student can request a review by the Disability Resources’ Decision, Review, and Consultation (DRC) committee. The AC will present all available information to the DRC committee. The student can provide written or verbal information to their AC for the consideration of the DRC committee. The AC will communicate the committee’s decision to the student.
- If the student is dissatisfied with a decision reached by the DRC committee, they may request a meeting with the Director of Disability Resources. The Director or their designee will review all information, as well as consult with the university ADA Coordinator and all other relevant parties, in order to make a final decision.
Please contact your Access Coordinator with any questions about this procedure.
